Babble Unspoken Words Series.

Babble Unspoken Words Series is the working title of this collection of paintings some of which have been reworked from the earlier Action Reaction series. These recent paintings are all oil on canvas with some acrylic and oil on canvas.Their sizes range from the largest 100cm x 150cm to the smaller works at 25cm x 30cm.We exist in an increasingly fast paced world with so many demands for our attention also from the virtual and social media platforms we increasingly spend our valuable time on. This inevitable leads to anxiety and cognitive overload, painting is what I define as a slow time medium and its relevance at this time is its connection to the human hand eye coordination used in the act of painting. This state of Being and living in the moment I feel is paintings advantage over a more conceptual art especially in this time of pandemic Covid 19. We are forced to reappraise our disconnected frantic lifestyles discovering a rich inner world to fall back on. The paintings are my way of navigating these issues where the babble, noise, speed encountered here and online are assimilated into my work. Through language made soundless using calligraphic marks building many layers into the surface of the paintings. I follow mostly my intuition listening to my artistic inner voice to create my personal vision out of the world in which I inhabit.
